It is snowing, and the rocks are wearing snow hats. The sun, partly seen behind the trees at left, is on its way down, but it is not yet 2 o' clock in the afternoon.../Älven som landskap...Det snöar, och stenarna pryds av pampiga snöhattar, klockan är ca. två på e.m. och solen är på väg ner (t.v.)/ Paisaje de río...Nieva, y las rocas en los rápidos lucen sombreros de nieve. I managed to take a walk today, a day a bit 'more "warm" than the previous ones.
I did not have the "official" camera with me because I wanted to be free of weight and photographic obligations.
I wanted to enjoy the walk and I found myself, instead, taking a lot of photos of the fascinating river and the path in winter clothes.
This small nikon compact, now dated, is able to capture the "mood" of the environment, probably better than the other, has no claims in detail, all that immortal is what I needed today- the essence of the river in winter, in its apparent calm, in the dull colors, in the bony trees and in the total absence of living beings of all kinds....
Fabrizio De André - Le acciughe fanno il pallone (Live)
The chosen music has nothing to do with the photo, but is a tribute to De André in the twenty years since his death and a tribute to my father on his birthday ....
Thanks for your recent visits, favorites, comments and invitations, everything is very much appreciated, as always....

A northern tributary of the River Clyde, the River Kelvin rises in the Kilsyth Hills, 3 miles (5 km) east of Kilsyth and flows southwest for 21 miles (33.5 km) before joining the Clyde, 2 miles (3 km) west of Glasgow city centre. For much of its first 2 miles (3 km) the Kelvin flows alongside the Forth & Clyde Canal, which has disturbed its course and rendered it little more than a drainage ditch. It forms the boundary between North Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire between Queenzieburn and Kirkintilloch, receives the Galzert Water and Luggie Water, then forms the border between East Dunbartonshire and Glasgow to the southeast of Milngavie and finally passes through the residential suburbs of Maryhill, Kelvinside, Hillhead and Kelvingrove, before reaching the Clyde at Partick. The Botanic Gardens, the University of Glasgow, the Kelvin Hall and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum all lie on its banks.

Across the Kawarau River gorge there are still remnants of the gold digger days. Some of these can be viewed at the Goldfields Mining Centre.

From last year, I shot a series of photos to create ths panorama. I was on the ferrry boat crossing the Cape Fear River from Southport to Fort Fisher, North Carolina, USA. What an amazing sunset we saw that evening.
This is long, but I found it fascinating.
30 million years ago a gigantic caldera was formed by the sudden collapse of overlying rock into an underground reservoir of molten rock. The resulting eruptions produced massive amounts of ash and debris which nearly refilled the depression. These deposits hardened into rock.
About a half million years ago flows of basalt lava poured into this area and capped it off. Over time, erosion by the Crooked River has exposed and sculpted the landscape that you see here. Nice work!

Mount Sniffle rises above the wood River as it runs through the Kirwin townsite in Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming. Upstream a little ways lies the site of a cabin that was being built in 1937 as a summer home for Amelia Earhar.t After she disappeared on her flight around the world, the cabin was never finished.

River Rhine in Switserland flows into lake Bodensee. The delta is a beautiful area with wetlands, agriculture and a lot of rural roads. On sunny days many locals find their way to tiny beaches and harbors. Bregenz, 2020.
Again, I would like to thank everyone for your support, views, faves and comments!
here we have some nice spots where you can take a step over the water and look along the river, it flowes to the west so in some times you can see the sun going down "into" the river

River at dawn!
water in your clear eyes!
fall -rise!- in the blue
transparent, almost white.
Sky in the dawn river
-my love in your lazy eyes-
oh, shipwreck -ascend!-
always deeper! higher!

According to Wikipedia; the Conwy Railway Bridge carries the North Wales coast railway line across the River Conwy between Llandudno Junction and the town of Conwy. The wrought iron tubular bridge, which is now Grade I listed, was built in the 19th century by Robert Stephenson. It is the last surviving example of this type of design by Stephenson after the Britannia Bridge across the Menai Strait was destroyed in a fire in the 1970s.

I placed a bouquet of river grass in front of a black background and made this image while intentionally moving the camera vertically.
