We have our car back! Stolen on 1st June at midnight, it was reported as found on Sunday 8th, about 20 miles away, parked in a housing estate with the doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition. It had been like that for a week, but the residents finally reported it when they had visitors and couldn't use the space because my car was in the way. Then they saw the keys in the ignition.
We collected it yesterday, and to our astonishment all of the contents were present, other than half a can of coke that the thief drank. They ignored the £1000+ worth of cds on the back seat, and several other goodies.
Today I put it in for an MOT, since it expired 2 weeks before it was stolen (oops), and as of about 3pm today we have our car back. We cannot believe our luck.
Next time though, I hope he takes a taxi home instead.
