Why ban even thin frame?

I understand the group admin can make rules one sees fit and some people go way overboard with thick frames on their photos but why ban all frames, some add depth to the photo just like matting on a printed photo.

Is it just easier to ban all so it's not subjective?
Would love to know your opinion on thin frames like this one. Thank you.

Sometimes frames can improve a photo, and then it can be submitted to groups that allow frames.

Can you supply an exact definition of thin frame vs thick frame, in case a different group might choose to allow them?

The definition of thin frame is of course subjective, but so is approval of the photo by moderators and we are ok with that to maintain high quality of the group.

Most groups allow frames, some allow "thin frames", very few groups ban them outright and I assume photographers are not going to be re-editing their photos to post in a specific group.

Perhaps admin and moderators can discuss and reconsider. Thank you for running/moderating this group.
