Our nonprofit work at The Change Climate Project is funded by program fees, grants, and donations.
This page describes fees for our two programs: The Climate Label certification, and the Business Emissions Evaluator, our carbon management software.

The Climate Label Certification

To achieve The Climate Label Certification, all companies must demonstrate that they have met the requirements of the certification Standard.

Certification: Guided Support

Payment for Guided Support is due upon signing the Brand License Agreement (for first-time certifying brands) or certification kickoff (for re-certifying brands).
The Business Emissions Evaluator (BEE)

Certification Stage: All

Annual subscription to our certification and carbon management software platform, the BEE. Includes software tools to support all stages of certification, including carbon inventory, visualizations, reduction planning, target setting, funding, certification documentation submission, and review.

Guided Support for Carbon Inventory *

Certification Stage: Measure & Plan

Includes prescribed timelines, email reminders, and group support. You’ll be paired with a Measure & Plan Coach for 1:1 touch-points on carbon inventory preparation, reduction planning, and target setting.

Guided Support for Certification Submission

Certification Stages:  Fund & Amplify

A hands-on support program to guide you through certification requirements. Includes prescribed timelines, email reminders, and group support. You’ll be paired with a Fund Coach for 1:1 touch-points on calculating and allocating your Climate Transition Budget; and final documentation submission.

Carbon Credit Provider Directory

Certification Stage: Fund

A directory of carbon credit providers including provider info, pre-vetted project options, and links to purchase eligible verified carbon credits.

* Companies may opt to use pre-approved measurement solutions from third-party consultants or software providers. This option does not include coaching during the Measure stage of certification.

** Companies with less than $5m in annual revenues are opted into “Small Business Support” by default, and pay no Guided Support Fee. Small Business Support is a streamlined approach that works better for most small businesses. However, small businesses may upgrade to Guided Support for a more detailed analysis and feedback throughout the certification prep process.

Certification: Brand License Fee

Upon successfully meeting The Climate Label Certified Standard, you will pay a Brand License Fee based on your annual emissions.
The Climate Label Brand License

License to use The Climate Label Certified marks for one calendar year beginning on the date you complete certification. The license terms are outlined in your Brand License Agreement.

Marketing Resources and Activations

Toolkits and guidance for making effective climate claims to your customers and audience. Participation in marketing and consumer engagement activations that raise awareness of climate change and the meaning and importance of certification. Includes assets and content to help you announce and promote your status as a Climate Label Certified brand.

Community Benefits

Access to Slack community, educational events, workshops, and ongoing networking opportunities.

Notes

There is a minimum Brand License Fee of $950

Program Fees do not include your costs of paying third parties (such as consultants, assurance providers, software providers, and carbon credit / REC brokers)

Companies that participate in Cycle A receive a credit equal to 10% of their Guided Support Fee when they complete certification before the Cycle A deadline. This credit is reflected on the Guided Support Fee invoice

Nonprofit organizations with emissions <1,000 tonnes receive a 50% discount on the Brand License Fee

Companies that pay a Guided Support Fee and begin, but do not complete certification, may apply the payment toward the cost of an annual BEE subscription

BEE for BIPOC
