Bio

Previously managed major transformation programmes within the UK’s NHS Health Service, running collaborative events, meetings and conferences for professionals and the general public within healthcare and digital – for over 11 amazing years. I focus on bringing people together to drive meaningful change in delivery.

Away from the 9-5, I’m the founder of MalgraBooks, an automated online bookkeeping and accounts service built specifically for self-employed consultants in the UK. Our cloud-based system, Pulse, supports hundreds of consultants with everything from expense tracking to Making Tax Digital compliance and automatic submission of Tax Returns to the Government. I’ve been supporting consultants for over 13 years now, and there’s something rewarding about building software that genuinely understands the unique needs of a specific community.

Previously pmhtuk, I like to say the registration date back in November 2007 was my ‘birthday’ with WordPress when I first started using and contributing to the project. This (malgra) username is a new account which was created on .org so that I could access the multisite WordCamp system and community systems used to manage events and the community.

I’ve been working as a volunteer and organiser mainly with WordCamp Europe for several years. There’s nothing like being in a room with like-minded people here to support an awesome project like WordPress. I started as a volunteer, then organiser, led one of the teams for several years and then became a lead organiser – before now being a mentor for the event and other ones around the world.

I’m also a Program Supporter, helping with community emails, WordCamp and event processing, orientation, and general support for organisers navigating the system.

You may also find me at other events, such as hackathons—most recently CloudFest where our CMS Freedom project delivered a working MVP to convert legacy websites (think about very old HTML projects!) into WordPress as a block theme! Building on that, I’m now currently contributing to TestAlly for Developers, an accessibility copilot project.

Initially as a student in the early 2000s and more recently for business.
