Bio

** I’m currently open to new work opportunities. **

I’m a husband, father, and hacker living in Portland, Oregon, where I primarily contribute to WordPress Core and Gutenberg, garden Trac and GitHub tickets, and help contributors get involved in WordPress testing and development. In my free time, I play drums and pickleball, make cold process soap, and tend my flock of chickens.

I’ve had the opportunity to serve as:
– Test Co-Lead for WordPress 6.0, 6.1, and 6.3
– Test Team Rep for 2022-2023
– Contributor Day Test Lead/Co-Lead for WCEU 2022, WCUS 2022 (Slack), and WCUS 2023/2024
– Mentor to other test leads

You can usually find me lurking in the WordPress #core and #core-test Slack channels.

Interests

wordpress, drums, pickleball, table tennis, cycling, swimming, soap making, urban farming, reading, coffee, food, beer, cider

WordPress Origin Story

I’ve been hacking on WordPress since version 2.3. I started with personal blogging for a few things I wanted to share online (like making your own yogurt). Turns out that while I love writing, I’m a horrible blogger, so I eventually found a place helping other folks build and maintain their own WordPress sites.
