What

Add cchar() — the third and final B string helper — to XString.

Why

The module description said "Right now only cstring and perlstring are available," implying more were planned. B::cchar is the only remaining string helper in B. Adding it completes the set and removes the "right now only" qualifier.

How

  • Added cchar() C function to XString.xs, identical to B.xs implementation
  • Uses the same ALIAS dispatch pattern: cstring=0, perlstring=1, cchar=2
  • Returns a single-quote-surrounded escaped first character (C char literal)
  • Updated POD and README with function documentation

Testing

  • New t/cchar.t verifies all 256 byte values match B::cchar output
  • Named escapes, special characters, printable ASCII, NUL byte, and multi-char input all tested
  • make test passes on all existing + new tests

Add B::cchar as the third string helper, completing the set of B string
functions that XString extracts. cchar() returns a single-quote-surrounded
escaped version of the first character of a string, suitable for use as
a C character literal.

Implementation mirrors B.xs exactly — same ALIAS dispatch pattern
(cstring=0, perlstring=1, cchar=2) and identical escape logic.
