SMAppService.daemon and AirWatch installation
My enterprise app requires a launch daemon that provides services to support my Security agent plugin. I bundle everything in an App and install using AirWatch. This all used to work until something changed, either AirWatch or the MacOS version. Now the install fails because my SMAppService instance returns an error when .register is called: Error Domain=SMAppServiceErrorDomain Code=1 "Operation not permitted" UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=Operation not permitted} If I install by opening my installer package as a user, the install always succeeds. The app is an enterprise app and is not distributed through the App Store. The app also installs a security extension. The security extension is installed and activated before any calls to SMAppService. I can't figure out what has changed in the last few months that would cause the error, or how to fix this. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Entitlement for extension to have read-only access to host's task?
Hi all, I'm building an iOS app extension using ExtensionKit that works exclusively with its containing host app, presenting UI via EXHostViewController. I'd like the extension to have read-only access to the host's task for process introspection purposes. I'm aware this would almost certainly require a special entitlement. I know get-task-allow and the debugger entitlement exist, but those aren't shippable to the App Store. I'm looking for something that could realistically be distributed to end users. My questions: Does an entitlement exist (or is one planned) that would grant an extension limited, read-only access to its host's task—given the extension is already tightly coupled to the host? If not, is this something Apple would consider adding? The use case is an extension that needs to inspect host process state without the ability to modify it. Is there a path to request such an entitlement through the provisioning profile process, or is this fundamentally off the table for App Store distribution? It seems like a reasonable trust boundary given the extension already lives inside the host's app bundle, but I understand the security implications. Any insight appreciated. Thanks!

App Store Connect
Hi there I am trying to get to app store connect but it simply tells me "You must be an individual or team member in the Apple Developer Program, or invited by an individual to access their content in App Store Connect." I have since realised i've paid the enrolment/membership fee for developer membership twice, yet still don't have access. Any help greatly appreciated.

-applicationDockMenu: method on NSApplicationDelegate doesn't work when attached to debugger
When I add a simple menu to the dock via the NSApplicationDelegate method -applicationDockMenu: and run the app from Xcode it doesn't work. -(NSMenu*)applicationDockMenu:(NSApplication*)sender { NSMenu *dockMenu = [self buildDockMenu]; if (dockMenu != nil) { NSLog(@"Returning dock menu."); return dockMenu; } else { NSLog(@"Not ready to build dock menu"); return nil; } } When I run the app, my main app window shows up but nothing logs out in -applicationDockMenu: until I click outside my app's window (so if I click the desktop background, or a Finder window, or whatever). Then after I click outside my app's main window this logs out: Returning dock menu. The "Not ready to build dock menu" message does not log out. But...when I right click on the dock icon, the menu doesn't show up. But if I stop the app from Xcode and just run it not attached to the debugger, the dock menu does show up. But this makes the debugging/testing situation not ideal.

Auto-renewable subscription shows no free trial on App Store page, and purchase sheet says “one-time payment”
I am trying to understand whether this is expected behavior or a configuration issue. My app has an auto-renewable subscription set up in App Store Connect. Current setup: Subscription type: Auto-Renewable Subscription Duration: 1 year Status: Approved Introductory offer: Free for the first week Introductory offer is active for the relevant storefront(s) Problem: On the App Store product page, the subscription only shows the normal price. There is no mention anywhere of the free 1-week trial. I tested this using a clean Apple ID that has never subscribed before and is in a region covered by the introductory offer. When trying to subscribe directly from the App Store flow (not the in-app paywall), the Apple purchase popup says “one-time payment”, even though this product is an auto-renewable subscription. What I thought would happen: The App Store page would show that eligible users get a free 1-week trial The purchase sheet would clearly indicate that this is a subscription, not a one-time purchase What I have already checked: Subscription is definitely created under Subscriptions, not as a non-consumable or one-time IAP Subscription status is Approved Introductory offer is active Product mapping appears correct Question: Is it normal that the App Store page does not mention the introductory free trial even for eligible users? Is it normal for the App Store purchase popup to say “one-time payment” for an auto-renewable subscription? Or does this suggest that something is misconfigured? If anyone has seen this before, I would appreciate guidance.

App submitted for review almost 5 weeks ago
My app was submitted for review in test flight almost 5 weeks ago and there is no update till now. Similar thing happened when I was trying to release the regular version (not TestFlight) and I had to wait for 3+ weeks. Is this the norm now? I have expedited and called support. They give generic answers that they are expediting and there is nothing else to do. Is there anything that I am missing here to get my app review done?

Enrollment still PENDING after 4 days
I purchased my Apple Developer program on April 16, 2026. It’s been 4 days now, and my status is still stuck on "Pending." What’s worse is that the system is now prompting me to make the payment again. I know many of us are experiencing this exact same issue right now. I am from Thailand, so I decided to make a phone call to the Apple Developer support team to get this sorted out. They told me that due to a massive volume of requests, it might take a very long time to approve. They promised to "expedite" my process, but completely failed to provide any specific timeframe or even an estimated date of approval. Honestly, it felt like the support agent was just reading from a script to calm me down without actually offering any real help—they didn't even ask for my Order Number to check my case! Based on how this is being handled, I strongly believe that anyone reading this who is stuck in the same situation might have to endure this problem for months. Has anyone actually gotten their account approved recently?

409 ENTITY_ERROR.RELATIONSHIP.INVALID — Cannot attach build or create version, affecting 2 separate accounts for 1 week
I am unable to submit any app for review. Every attempt to add a build to an App Store version results in a 409 error, both through the App Store Connect website and directly through the App Store Connect REST API. Affected accounts: Account 1: My personal Apple Developer account Account 2: A company-owned Apple Developer account where I have Admin access Both accounts are completely separate — different legal entities, different enrollments — but exhibit the exact same behavior simultaneously. API errors observed When calling PATCH /v1/appStoreVersions/{id}/relationships/build: 409 ENTITY_ERROR.RELATIONSHIP.INVALID "The specified pre-release build could not be added." When calling POST /v1/appStoreVersions to create a new version: 409 ENTITY_ERROR.RELATIONSHIP.INVALID "You cannot create a new version of the App in the current state." What I have verified All builds are processingState: VALID and not expired usesNonExemptEncryption: false is set on all builds No build is already attached to another version Build version string matches the App Store version (1.1.0) App bundle ID matches the build bundle ID Localization, review contact details, and keywords are all filled in Banking info in Agreements, Tax, and Banking was recently updated on both accounts Issue persists on both the website and via the REST API, ruling out a browser/cache issue Question Has anyone seen 409 errors affecting two completely separate developer accounts simultaneously? Could there be a platform-level issue with App Store Connect that is not reflected on the System Status page? I opened a support ticket 1 week ago but I only got a reply today and it's just asking for more details.

Hey everyone 👋 I have 14 years of experience in iOS development, starting in my mid-teens and later working as a senior and lead developer with Fortune 50 companies. Orphaned 9GB Simulator Runtime in /System/Library/AssetsV2 - Cannot Delete (SIP protected)
I have an orphaned asset folder taking up 9.13GB located at: /System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime/c0d3fd05106683ba0b3680d4d1afec65f098d700.asset It contains SimulatorRuntimeAsset version 18.5 (Build 22F77). Active Version: My current Xcode setup is using version 26.2 (Build 23C54). I checked the plist files in the directory and found what seems to be the cause of the issue: The "Never Collected" Flag: The Info.plist inside the orphaned asset folder explicitly sets the garbage collection behavior to "NeverCollected": <key>__AssetDefaultGarbageCollectionBehavior</key> <string>NeverCollected</string> The Catalog Mismatch: The master catalog file (com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime.xml) in the parent directory only lists the new version (26.2). Because the old version (18.5) is missing from this XML, Xcode and mobileassetd seem to have lost track of it entirely. What I Have Tried (All Failed) Xcode Components: The version 18.5 does not appear in Settings -> Components, so I cannot delete it via the GUI. Simctl: xcrun simctl list runtimes does not list this version. Running xcrun simctl runtime delete 22F77 fails with: "No runtime disk images or bundles found matching '22F77'." Manual Deletion: sudo rm -rf [path] fails with "Operation not permitted", presumably because /System/Library/AssetsV2 is SIP-protected. Third-party Tools: Apps like DevCleaner do not detect this runtime (likely because they only scan ~/Library or /Library, not /System/Library). Has anyone found a way to force the system (perhaps via mobileassetd or a specific xcrun flag) to re-evaluate this folder and respect a deletion request? I am trying to avoid booting into Recovery Mode just to delete a cache file. Any insights on how AssetsV2 handles these "orphaned" files would be appreciated.

Sim Card unique Identification
I would like to enable the app to persist a stable SIM identifier and compare it across app sessions so it can reliably detect when the user has changed SIM cards. When a SIM change is detected—especially while the device is on Wi-Fi—the app should trigger SIM-change handling (for example: refresh auth/session, reload account-specific data, and update feature availability). The implementation must be robust for: Dual-SIM and eSIM devices Temporary network unavailability or delayed carrier info Current challenge: On Wi-Fi, the existing hash can distinguish a different operator but cannot reliably detect a SIM-card-level change. We need a way to uniquely identify the SIM card itself, not just the operator.

Live Activity updates not received on iPhone 16 Pro Max when started via ActivityKit push
Description When starting Live Activities via ActivityKit push notifications, the “start” notification is received correctly on iPhone 16 Pro Max, but subsequent update or end push notifications are not. The same implementation on iPhone 16 Pro behaves as expected (both start and update/end notifications are delivered and processed). Environment Property Value Device (failing) iPhone 16 Pro Max Device (working) iPhone 16 Pro iOS Version 18.5 Xcode / SDK 16.2/ActivityKit / Push Notifications Network Wi-Fi / Cellular (both tested) Data Collection Method Devices connected via USB. Logs captured using Console.app. Log filtering applied for the liveactivitiesd daemon to isolate Live Activity behavior. Initial Triage/Observations Payload format confirmed compatible; no incompatible fields. APNs token remains the same across messages (no refresh). Identical ActivityKit subscriptions/participants on both devices. Server-side delivery is confirmed: iPhone 16 Pro receives all messages (start, update, end). What additional diagnostic logs (system, APNs, liveactivitiesd) would be most helpful to collect? Could device-specific power management, notification settings, or OS-level changes on Pro Max models affect Live Activity updates? Are there differences in how Live Activity push subscriptions or routing are handled on iPhone 16 Pro Max vs Pro that could lead to this issue?

Merchant not registered for domain error after successful Register Merchant API call
We have recently enrolled to the platform integrator program in order to be able to use this API https://developer.apple.com/documentation/applepaywebmerchantregistrationapi to verify our customers' domains for apple pay. We have distributed certifications and the domain association file and have successfully conducted the domain verification call. Consequently, the domain is registered for a given merchant. However, when conducting a payment session request, we receive an error response saying that the domain is not registered. Specific example: We POST to https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/registerMerchant with body: { "domainNames": [ "example.com" ], "encryptTo": "platformintegrator.com.example", "partnerInternalMerchantIdentifier": "example", "partnerMerchantName": "example" } and get a 200 response. The apple server successfully conducts the call to the example.com/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association resource. Then the GET request to https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/merchant/example lists the domain for this merchant: Response { "domainNames": [ "example.com" ], "partnerMerchantName": "example", "partnerInternalMerchantIdentifier": "example", "partnerMerchantValidationURI": "/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association", "encryptTo": "<hashed merchant id>", "delegatedCommerce": { "enabled": true } } However, when trying to initiate an apple pay payment session here: POST https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/paymentSession Body: { "merchantIdentifier": "platformintegrator.com.example", "displayName": "example", "initiative": "web", "initiativeContext": "example.com" } we receive this error response: { "statusMessage": "Payment Services Exception merchantId=<hashed merchant id> not registered for domain=example.com", "statusCode": "400" } Our assumption is that after registering a domain for a merchant the apple pay process should work. We already have a working apple pay implementation with the traditional domain verification process with merchant IDs. We would like to know if we are missing any detail or what is causing this error in our payment process.

Can't remove "tracking" in my app privacy policy
I was planning to add the Facebook SDK in one of the releases, and I had everything prepared (including changing the privacy policy to state that my app tracks users for advertising). I changed the privacy policy in the App Store connect, thinking that this wouldn't take effect until I sent the app to review. However, after careful consideration, I decided not to move on with the Facebook SDK. My app does not currently track users for advertising. Even though I sent a new release (UI improvements only), I still can't change the privacy policy to remove that my app "tracks" the user. I read multiple posts with people facing similar issues. For my binary, I have: No PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy file NSUserTrackingUsageDescription in Info.plist No tracking declarations in my app configuration I contacted support, and I was redirected here. My case number is 102778907920

Developer Program enrollment still pending after payment
Hi everyone, I subscribed to the Apple Developer Program on Tuesday evening, November 4th, 2025. The payment has already been charged to my bank account, but my account still shows the status “Pending” with the message “Subscribe your membership”. It’s now been several days, and I haven’t received any confirmation email or any request for additional information. I already contacted Apple Support by email, but I’d like to know if other developers have experienced the same situation and how long it took before their account was activated. Thanks in advance for your help and feedback! — Martin

Does HealthKit sync data when the app is terminated?
I'm building an app with a leaderboard based on users' step counts, so I need the data to sync in real time at minimum. The problem is that when the app is terminated, steps don't seem to be counted at all, so if a user hasn't opened the app in 5 days, the leaderboard ends up completely out of sync. Is it even possible to retrieve this data when the app has been terminated and hasn't been opened? I'm currently using Background Fetch, which works when the app is suspended, slowly, but it does work. However, it does not sync when the app is fully terminated.

Only iPhone 16 Pro Max fails to receive update or end push notifications. Log Analysis iPhone 16 Pro (Working) Push-to-Start successfully received: 13:45:20 - APSXPCDeliverMessageEvent: Created APSIncomingMessage 13:45:20 - Received message: eventType: start(SessionPushNotifications.IncomingMessage.EventType.StartParameters(attributesType: "AchToLSUpgradeAttributes", attributesData: 125 bytes, inputs: [])) 13:45:20 - Created activity: 1C081AC5-01AE-4EC0-8B67-5F2A9FAE2D60 13:45:45 - APSXPCDeliverMessageEvent: Created APSIncomingMessage 13:45:45 - Received message: eventType: end(dismissDate: Optional(2025-07-21 21:00:44 +0000)) 13:45:20 - Activity updated: 1C081AC5-01AE-4EC0-8B67-5F2A9FAE2D60 13:45:20 - Local activity did update: 1C081AC5-01AE-4EC0-8B67-5F2A9FAE2D60 iPhone 16 Pro Max (Failing) 13:56:39 - APSXPCDeliverMessageEvent: Created APSIncomingMessage 13:56:39 - Received message: eventType: start(SessionPushNotifications.IncomingMessage.EventType.StartParameters(attributesType: "AchToLSUpgradeAttributes", attributesData: 125 bytes, inputs: [])) 13:56:39 - Created activity: E6BBF691-0C7A-4791-98D2-6F1440D9932E **No subsequent APNs push-to-update or push-to-end messages received.** 13:56:39 - No destinations for event E6BBF691... of type start 13:56:40 - No destinations for event E6BBF691... of type update Questions for Apple Engineering Are there known issues with ActivityKit push notifications specifically on iPhone 16 Pro Max devices?
