Pendant brings Pi into VS Code as a focused, lightweight sidebar and editor tabs. It uses Pi directly, loads your configuration, extensions, skills and prompts, and supports every model available in your setup. Around it come modern touches: image attachments, Mermaid diagrams and other rich output, a focused view, and more.
- Any model. Use anything your Pi setup supports, from local models to hosted frontier models.
- Editor context. Attach files, folders, selections, diagnostics, images, and Git state without copy-paste.
- Rich agent UI. Follow streaming tools, diffs, plans, subagents, Mermaid diagrams, MathJax, extension widgets, and terminal interfaces in chat.
- Persistent sessions. Pin, search, reorder, fork, steer, and queue conversations from the sidebar or editor tabs.
- Local voice and offline work. Dictate on-device with
whisper.cpp, or pair Pendant with a local model and work without a network connection. - No lock-in. Your Pi configuration stays authoritative, and Pendant adds no hosted proxy, telemetry, or remote crash reporting.
Pendant for Desktop is coming soon. The VS Code extension works with VS Code, VSCodium, and compatible editors on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
