Back to group

I can see, in my memories of this day, the attempt to create community through a photo session that involved my buddy (and his front yard), my other friend (as my assistant), my other other friend (also taking pictures) and a model (as a model). Creating an excuse to hang out with a bunch of people.

I don't throw parties (anymore), like to do meals with just one or two other people (unless it's my birthday), so a day like this one was as big as it got for me, in '23.

Mostly digital, some medium format, a few Polaroids...took me the rest of the year to finally realize what I needed was a community. Took meeting and hanging out with other Polaroid freaks, going to conventions and meet-ups to realize what i'd been missing for years? A decade?

Community's always been responsible for my best photos...because it's not about the photos, it's always been about people.
