• We installed this plugin yesterday, having been disappointed with other site statistic plugins. This one was the worst of them all. I set a page counter on the blog pages, then logged out, and tried viewing the pages from different parts of the world using our VPN. Not one page shows any visitors. So we uninstalled it. Not only this, but the nags to buy the premium version really got me, when even the basics don’t work. This plugin was even worse than StatCounter, and that’s saying something. Statcounter worked fine on my static sites, when all I needed to do was add some code to the footer.

    Hi @sonyamakepeace,

Sorry the plugin didn’t work for you out of the box. Most likely your VPN browser is blocking our tracker script (uBlock, Brave Shields, and similar block anything named tracker.js or matching wp-statistics). There’s a setting for exactly this:

    1. Statistics → Settings → General → Tracker Configuration
    2. Set Tracking Method to Client Side Tracking (Recommended) and save.
    3. A Bypass Ad Blockers checkbox appears. Enable it and save again.

The tracker is then served from an obfuscated, randomized path that filter lists don’t catch. Visits should start recording.

If that doesn’t help, check Statistics → Exclusions in case your VPN IPs are matching the built-in bot list.

Would you consider reinstalling and giving this a try? If it works for you this time, we’d be grateful if you’d revisit the review.

    Best
