Issue description

Many users use tmux to share sessions on Linux servers among multiple people. It would be very useful to have a notification while one person is working that another person has joined the same session. Such a notification could appear as a message.

It would also be useful to notify a newly joining user that there are already a certain number of connections attached, along with their respective idle times.
