This usually happens when GitHub’s verification system cannot properly recognize certain regional education email domains, even if they are officially academic (like the French “ac-” academy emails).

A few things you can try:

Make sure you are using the exact same email (firstname.lastname@ac-nantes.fr) in your GitHub account and in the Education application
Verify the email on GitHub first (Settings → Emails → verify)
Try reapplying using a different browser (Chrome or Edge works best)
Disable VPN / ad-blockers during the application
If the system still rejects it, use the “document verification / camera ID option” instead of email-based verification (this is intended for cases where email domains are not detected correctly)

If none of this works, this is likely a domain recognition limitation on GitHub’s side, not an issue with your account. In that case, I recommend contacting GitHub Education Support and clearly mentioning:

You are a verified teacher in France
Your official school email is @ac-nantes.fr
The system incorrectly rejects it as non-academic

Support can manually approve these cases.
