account suspended #197098

Discussion TypeProduct Feedback Discussion ContentHello GitHub Community, I am opening this discussion regarding the suspension of two of my GitHub accounts, @Jerry-H01 and @69-Jerry, and I am hoping GitHub staff or community members may be able to assist or provide guidance. I am posting this from another account, @Pressplay007, because both affected accounts are currently suspended and inaccessible. Timeline On May 24, 2026, my work account, @Jerry-H01, was suddenly suspended without any prior warning, notification, or explanation from GitHub. Shortly after, my personal account, @69-Jerry, was also suspended. In both cases, I was redirected to the sign-in page during normal usage, and upon signing back in, I received the following message: “Access to your account has been suspended due to a violation of our Terms of Service. Please contact support for more information.” Since the suspensions, I have not received any detailed explanation, warning, or verification request explaining what triggered the action. About the Accounts @Jerry-H01 is primarily my work account and is used for active development, organizational repositories, and ongoing projects. @69-Jerry is my personal account used for personal development work and repositories. Both accounts had two-factor authentication enabled and, to my knowledge, neither account has been involved in spam, abuse, malicious activity, or any intentional violation of GitHub’s Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policies. Important Clarification Because no specific reason has been communicated for either suspension, I currently have no understanding of what may have triggered the action or what issue needs to be resolved. If this was caused by a misunderstanding, automated flag, or security-related issue, I would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to clarify and resolve it. Current Impact The suspensions have interrupted access to important repositories, development work, and ongoing projects, significantly affecting productivity and active responsibilities. Request I would respectfully ask if anyone from GitHub staff could review the appeals associated with Ticket #4413366 and Ticket #4423476. Additionally, if any community members have experienced a similar situation and were able to resolve it, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions. Thank you for your time and consideration. Best regards, |

Hey Jerry, Sorry you’re dealing with this — getting accounts suspended like that with no clear reason is really frustrating. Honestly, the only real place this can be fixed is GitHub Support. The community here can’t see why it happened or reverse it. Since you already have tickets open, you’re doing the right thing. I’d just suggest sticking to those and waiting for their reply. Try not to open new accounts or multiple requests, because that can sometimes make things slower or more complicated. When they reply, just be clear and calm — explain that both accounts were used for normal development work and that you’re not sure what triggered the suspension. If they need verification or proof, just provide it quickly. It might take time, but these cases usually get resolved once the Trust & Safety team reviews them properly. Hope you get it sorted soon 👍 |
