I'm also having this issue, where I was approved for the student account but when I go to check Copilot I see the "Free" label and am unable to access or use copilot as I'd expect to.

No solution yet, and I’ve had this problem since long before opening this discussion...

I think GitHub really doesn’t give a fuck about this. Since they even stopped offering payment plans for now because they are not profitable (maybe they’ll switch to usage-based pricing, or maybe they’ll increase the price) and their infrastructure is being challenged, it’s reasonable to think that they also stopped the free student plans.

All of this is understandable. What I don’t like is the lack of transparency around it... Public pages still say that students have access to a free Copilot plan, but that’s not true. So I feel deceived, and honestly, this impacts the image I have of GitHub.
