Search across all open query tabs #2522

Description

@Timon-ROM

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When working with many open query tabs, it becomes difficult to keep track of their contents. Currently, the search (Ctrl + F) only works within the active query tab. This makes it hard to quickly locate a specific query or text fragment across multiple open tabs.
In setups where users keep many tabs open for reuse, this can significantly reduce clarity and efficiency.

Describe the solution you'd like
Extend the existing search functionality (Ctrl + F) with an additional option in the "Search in" dropdown, such as:

  • "Current tab" (existing behavior)
  • "All open query tabs"

This would allow users to perform a text search across all currently opened query tabs, making it much easier to find and reuse existing queries.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • Using snippets as a structured alternative
  • Searching in the backup directory (C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\HeidiSQL\Backups\) with an external text editor
  • Manually browsing tabs

While these workarounds are valid, they are less convenient and break the workflow compared to an integrated solution.

Additional context
This idea originated from a discussion in the HeidiSQL forum, where it was confirmed that currently only per-tab search is supported.
