Been playing 6mo, got to 260k power. Spent around £60 so far, which is mainly the monthly battle pass and a Blackstone chest (gems) which gives me a 30 day feed of gems. You can obviously whale and spend £££ to progress fast but its not needed at all. If you spend only £5 on this game, let it be the Yarrick offer you get at the start. He is extremely good and you cant unlock him easily otherwise. Community is ok, Snowprint discord is a good resource and Devs interact with players constantly on there. Ive been stung by mobile game devs before, spent loads on the game only for huge power creep and p2w elements to take over - so far, Tacticus is not that. It rewards daily play and regular updates improve the game. The only gripe i have is that bugs have been exploited by some and they havent been punished which is annoying. Devs are a bit slow to patch bugs tbh. 9/10Edit: 10mo in and still playing. Ive ramped up my spend considerably as I am enjoying the gameplay loop and have joined a top guild. We have our own discord now and are working hard to climb the leaderboard. I even have my wife playing on her phone now.
Demotivating grind…

As gacha games go., I don’t get why it’s so difficult to get characters or upgrade them..You can spend a whole day’s energy to upgrade just a single piece of gear that doesn’t add much to your character., with the only real climb when you upgrade a “set” of 6.. and you need to upgrade the characters rank too which needs supply drops that take grinding over weeks to get enough to be worth pulling.. and eventually you need crests that aren’t accessible either - even doing all the bosses, savage and other side missions., the game rarely gives you any.. and even after years, I have characters that have 100s of the character fragments, but no crests so I can’t upgrade them, meaning they’re just going to stay weakEven the characters level builds slowly in battle so you need XP boosts., you even need the level up to be able to equip gear..At least when you get 3star on a mission., you can quick battle it to speed things up., but you won’t get any xp for it, slowing things down again - I’m not sure how it grades character levels to mission, but much of the time it’s rated “easy” but you will lose ~2 characters before they get to do anything especially when you can’t move because snipers with kill your character in response..
Great for passing time, just there are in game purchases

Ok, now I was quite new to 40K when I started playing this (mainly cuz my mates got me into it) and this helped me understand it allot more and I collect a lot more blood bowl figs that 40K but anyway, the game is really good and I found the campaign really engaging and I remember waiting for something and I started playing Tacticus at about 11 and the thing I was waiting for came…at about 12. So overall it is really good but the one thing I found really annoying was that I love space marine 2 (great game btw) and I really want Titus but idk how to get him, and if you actually want a character better than a rotten potato, you have to fire a bolter at your wallet (metaphorically, btw, plz do not shoot your wallet, lucky I live in Britain so no guns) cuz of how expensive they are, like the ultimate battle pass is about thirty quid. And don’t get me wrong, I bloody love warhammer but it’s just I’d rather buy and paint the actual figures instead of just buying digital ones. But by all means, I really do recommend installing this game. (Side note: if you are thinking of going to warhammer world, plz do, I went there and I won’t spoil it but I’d rate it 10/10)
What a game!
The friendly tree
I have been playing Tacticus for almost a year now and have spent no money but am extremely happy with my progression. This is a great game with many aspects and ideas. It includes the tabletop game in many great ways, some not in a way you would expect! Me and my family play it together and it is a great way to include a little bit of friendly competition. It is an extremely fun game with many different parts to follow. I would recommend it to all gamers looking for an interesting, strategic battle game. The only problem I can find is some of the waits you have to encounter. None are to long but if the producers could shorten a few of them I would love it even more. But this still isn’t that big a problem. Hope you enjoy your fun times playing this excellent game!
