Observe the blue moon

Night Sky is the best way to keep track of what’s happening in the universe

On 31 May we’ll be treated to a rare blue moon, which occurs when a second full moon appears within a single calendar month. Find out all about it in Night Sky.

What we love: Despite the name, the moon won’t actually appear blue (blue moon originates from the 16th century when it was used to describe something impossible), but it will be a spectacular sight. Night Sky will explain it all and share guidance on how to observe it.

Don’t miss: Night Sky’s incredible AR features ensure you can see stars, satellites and space stations regardless of whether it’s broad daylight, thick cloud cover or a clear night.
